After the completion of an extensive project to clear the grounds which were overgrown with alien trees, the first few cottages were built in 1985, and today Houtkapperspoort has expanded into a well known and loved holiday resort with 21 Self Catering cottages of different sizes, suitable and catering to every holidaymaker’s needs.

CONDITIONS

The tariff applies per cottage as from 6,5,4 and 2 people (excluding babies under 18 months) depending on the cottage size. Refunds are not given for late arrivals or early departures. Management reserves the right to re-let bookings not taken by 17:00 p.m. on the booked date unless notice of late arrival is given. Payment by credit card, cash or EFT only.
Please note that our daily office hours are 08h00 until 17h00. Please advise of late arrivals prior to arrival.

FULL TARIFF STAY:

The tariff is inclusive of the entire cottage inventory including towels, all bed linen, furniture, fridge, microwave, electric or gas stove, TV with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, glassware and safe. Swimming/beach towels can be hired. A daily basic cleaning service will be provided between 10am and 3pm. Phones in each unit are charged for separately at a premium to the Telkom rate. Cots are available at a nominal daily charge which must please be arranged prior to arrival.
We regret NO PETS are allowed.
Please note that the cottages are fully Self Catering and do not include coffee, sugar, tea etc.

MONTHLY TARIFF STAY:

The tariff is inclusive of the entire cottage inventory including all bed linen, furniture, fridge, microwave, electric or gas stove, TV with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, glassware and safe. Swimming/beach towels can be hired. Once a week a cleaning service will be provided which will be inclusive of the tariff. Additional cleaning services must be arranged with the office 48 hours in advance. Phones in each unit are charged for separately at a premium to the Telkom rate. Cots are available at a nominal daily charge which must please be arranged prior to arrival.

DEPOSIT PAYMENT

A deposit of 50% or two nights, which-ever is the greater, will be due in 5 days of making the booking, or immediately if arrival is within 5 days. For a stay of one or two nights, the full accommodation will be due as a deposit to confirm and secure your reservation. The balance of the accommodation will be due on arrival as well as a separate R1000 Key & Breakage Deposit (we will on arrival request to do a manual imprint of your credit card, which will be destroyed again after the cottage keys have been returned and housekeeping has checked the cottage after your departure). Please enquire in regards to the Deposit and Cancellation Policy for special monthly tariffs.

KEY & BREAKAGE DEPOSIT

A Key & Breakage deposit of R1000 will be required on arrival (this will be authorised against your credit card and you will sign authorisation, but it will only be debited in the event of damages to be paid, and with your knowledge).

CANCELLATION POLICY

The following cancellation fees apply regardless of the reason for cancellation:
Written letter of cancellation is required. A cancellation notice received more than 42 days prior to arrival date - 50% refund of the deposit paid. If received 42 Days or less prior to arrival date - There will be no refund - You are welcome to provide us with alternative dates, but if your accommodation is less than the deposit paid, there will be no refund of the balance of your original deposit paid.

PRIVACY POLICY

Houtkapperspoort Mountain Retreat is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of our visitors and clients. We will never sell, trade or otherwise give away any information about our guests, except if required to do so by law. Personal details and email addresses received through completing our online booking form are filed away securely and only used by Houtkapperspoort Mountain Retreat when making reservations, and communicating directly with our guests. All credit card and banking transactions are handled with utmost confidentiality using secure methods of communication.
